PIPEDA gives individuals the right to know why an organization collects their personal information, to expect that the information will be used only for the stated purpose, and to have access to their personal information.
Under PIPEDA, we adhere to the following ten fair information principles: accountability, identifying purposes, consent, limiting collection, limiting use, disclosure and retention, accuracy, safeguards, openness, individual access, and challenging compliance.
